YouTube Preview Image

The Wonder Girls have uploaded a video of their second performance in Vancouver, Canada, and let me tell you, these girls will definitely no longer be “Nobody” in that area – Many people in the crowd seemed to enjoy the girls’ performance and even joined in with the dance! I’m sure all those teenagers in the audience went home right after and googled, “The Wonder Girls.” It won’t be long till the ‘Nobody Fever’ hits America..

Check out their performance of “Nobody”! Unfortunately, for time management, the girls only performed “Nobody”, instead of both “Nobody” and “Tell Me” like they did in their performance in Portland.

[Korea] Korean singers debut, Wonder Girls “leading”- Seven “Last”

Korean singers trying to debut in America have sparked in 2009. In 2005, singer Bi(Rain) announced he will prepare for American debut, the year after in 2006 singer Seven announced for a U.S. debut. Staring late 2006 to July 2007 Rain had a seven month “World Tour” while after three years, Seven released his first single album. Top star in Japan Boa also started to prepare for a U.S. debut and the past January released her first single and in March released her first full album. Recently Wonder Girls took their first steps in the U.S. music industry with “Nobody” and “Tell me”.

“World Star” Rain, leaving only potential half succeeded

The first korean singer to break into the U.S. market just recently halted due to problems uprising ??? only half succeeding. After the “World Tour”, there were many problems and struggles but it became a turning point for him. Although he started as a singer, but “Speed Racer” and main character “Ninja Assassin” will become a “Hollywood actor”.

Even though the movie “Speed Racer” released last year was a failure, Rain’s awareness rose, “Ninja Assassin” to released in November can be seen as Rain’s continuous preparation for the U.S. market. Also through “Ninja Assassin” there is a good chance Rain will become known as Asia’s Action Actor. His awareness to others through this continues to show potental.

SM “Japan Top” Boa, currently Round 2

Boa’s first debut song “Eat You Up” was number 8 on Billboard Hot Dance/Club chart. Although it may seem minor, the “powerful dance moves, small size, asian girl” have gotten a lot of interest.

Boa’s biggest advantage is from a Korean singer to debuting in Japan and succeeding in foreign countries, shows great succeeding potential. For Boa’s U.S. debut she had signed a contract with Brad Pitt, Mariah Carey, and others agency CAA Creative Artists Agency).

Boa’s promotion methods have been radio promotions and SF(San Francisco Pride, WDRE (Rhythmic WDRE Long Island) performances have been showing her face.

Japan, Korea, and even China, Boa’s awareness in these countries is also a big advantage for her. Boa’s U.S. debut album was #1 on the Oricon charts and have been getting a lot of attention in Japan and also MTV’ Music Award Japan and other japanese stages, Boa singing her U.S. debut songs is something only Boa is capable of having.

JYP Wonder Girls “Perfect” U.S. debut succeeding “Start”

The most recent to announce a U.S. debut, Wonder Girls had the most strongest American debut plan. Even with a strong awareness in Asia and other foreign countries, they have become a part of top American idol group the Jonas Brothers . Becoming the fastest be chosen to be an opening guest for a top star, this has become the most active plan to raise their awareness. Regardless of rock, pop or any genre, opening for a top star shows the highest potential for success.

Wonder Girls good start for America, Jyp has done a large part in it. JYP’s tour in America with the Wonder girls have gotten a lot of attention from others also sparked a contract with Jonas Brother’s agency CAA.

Jyp’s tour was a great way to promote the Wonder Girls to the Jonas group???. It has also been Wonder Girls continuous preparation such as English studies and talents that helped.

YG, Where has Seven’s awareness gone?

Out of the Korean singers that announced a U.S. debut, Seven has had the most incomplete results. After three years of preparation, released this past March the song “girl” has had no effect and no attention.

After showing his face at clubs taking pics with top stars, and also “Seven’s one-on-one Date” project promotion started, nothing special has been heard of. Although a top star in Korea, debuting in America as a newbie, it is too to judge success or failure, he needs more active promotion plans.

However, Korea’s interest in Seven is still high. His recent confession about dating actress Park Han Byul for seven years have sparked high interest.

Including Rain, judging success and failure is too early. However, Korean singer’s continuous preparation for America’s Pop market will help with culturally, and Koreans music industry.

[Korea] Wonder Girls made their American debut

Korea’s idol pop group Wonder Girls made their debut in the United States last Saturday (June 27) at a Jonas Brothers Concert held in the Rose Garden, Portland in the state of Oregon. The group of five girls – Sun, Yenny, Mimi, Sohee and Yubin – performed as the opening act of the concert.

“I’d like to introduce you to the biggest music group in Asia,” said Kevin Jonas, the head of the Jonas Brothers, as he introduced the act, complimenting their perfect dance choreography. “Music is worldwide right? Well get up on your feet and follow the amazing dance of Wonder Girls!”

The Wonder Girls came on stage in sparkling purple dresses and sang their two biggest hit songs “Tell Me” and “Nobody.” Both songs were number one hits back in Korea and grabbed quite a lot of attention in Asia through their music videos and Youtube tributes. The video was also featured on entertainment tabloid blogger Perez Hilton’s blog. The lyrics were translated into English.

Joe Jonas even imitated the Nobody-dance during the rehearsal. After performing, the Wonder Girls had a fan meeting together with Honor Society, who also performed.

“I still can’t believe 100 percent that this is real,” Sun said. “But I was able to enjoy my first opportunity in the United States with more confidence and joy thanks to all the things I’ve been through and all the encouragement I’ve received for the past two years.”

“To debut in the United States on Sohee’s birthday (June 27) — we always dreamt of that but never knew it would be realized this fast,” said Mimi, filled with excitement.

“I was reminded of the past two years that we performed as Wonder Girls in Korea and I became grateful for everything,” Yenny said. Yubin said she could hardly wait to show off their dances on the stage and Sohee with the chubby cheeks said she would reach out to more people with their songs.

Just a day ahead of their debut the Wonder Girls were also covered by the Seattle Times in its June 26 edition, under the headline “Asian superstars Wonder Girls open for Jonas Brothers.”

Citing the girls’ excitement over their first appearance onstage in America, the article described the group as a “throwback to the 1960s” with “a sugary pop sound and some Motown flavor” and “even rap.” Yubin, for her part, explained the Wonder Girls’ music is like “retro-funky-pop music, a mix of the old and the new,” with songs that are very easy to follow.

Wonder Girls just released their first digital single “Nobody” (English version) in the States on the 27th and in Korea on the 29th. The group is currently on a U.S. tour and the girls are scheduled to perform in 13 cities. The tour ends Aug. 22. Their schedule and other details will be updated at on real time at JYP Entertainment’s Twitter.com.
